What are casino tournaments?
Casino tournaments turn ordinary play into a competition. For a set period — a day, a week or a whole month — every qualifying bet you place earns you points on a live leaderboard. When the timer runs out, the players at the top of the ranking share a fixed prize pool, with the biggest rewards going to the highest positions. Most tournaments have a low minimum qualifying bet (often just €0.30–€0.50), so you don't need a big budget to take part — you just need to play the right games while the event is live.
Unlike a one-off bonus, a tournament rewards consistency and timing: the more effectively you play during the window, the higher you climb. Many Bonus Crab casinos run several tournaments at once, so there's almost always one active.
How a tournament works (step by step)
- Opt in / just play — depending on the casino, you either join with one click or are entered automatically when you play a qualifying game.
- Meet the minimum bet — only spins/bets at or above the stated minimum stake count toward your score.
- Climb the leaderboard — your score rises based on the tournament's rule (biggest total win, win multiplier, points per spin, etc.).
- Beat the clock — each event has a countdown ("Ends in: 3d 21:33").
- Collect your prize — when it ends, the top-ranked players receive their share of the prize pool automatically.
Types of tournaments you'll find
- Slot tournaments — the classic format. Compete on selected slots; the best scores win. Examples range from a weekly "Slot of the Week" with a smaller pool to large monthly races with thousands of participants.
- Cash Crab tournaments — leaderboard events built around the Cash Crab claw game (e.g. a monthly Cash Crab competition with its own prize pool).
- Live casino tournaments — run on live tables such as roulette or live game-shows (e.g. "Gold Saloon Live"), with a real-time ranking of players.
- Network jackpot drops (Drops & Wins style) — huge shared prize pools (often into the millions) spread across many players via random drops and leaderboard prizes while you play eligible slots.
- Sports / betting tournaments — for the sportsbook side: bet on selected markets (e.g. a football "World Championship" event) to climb a betting leaderboard and win a cash prize pool.
What can you win?
Prize pools range from a few hundred euros on weekly events to millions on big network jackpot drops. Rewards are usually paid as cash or bonus credits, and sometimes as free spins (shown with a ⚡ symbol). The split is weighted toward the top: in a typical leaderboard the #1 spot might take the largest single prize, with steadily smaller rewards down to the last paid rank.
Tips for tournament play
- Check the minimum bet — spins below it won't count, so make sure your stake qualifies.
- Mind the clock — a late surge near the deadline can jump you up the board, but so can other players; don't leave it too late.
- Pick the right games — only the tournament's eligible games add to your score; playing anything else won't help your ranking.
- Play responsibly — chasing a leaderboard can tempt you to overspend. Set a budget first; the prize pool is a bonus, not a guarantee.
Why tournaments are worth it
They add a layer of excitement on top of normal play, give casual players a shot at a shared prize pool for a tiny qualifying stake, and reward the players who are already enjoying the games. At Bonus Crab casinos they sit alongside the claw features as one more way to win.
